1. Santa Barbara Ventura County Loop
The Santa Barbara loop is about a 5 and a half hour ride consisting of a trip from the 33 to the 166, looping back down to the 101 and 154, taking you around the beautiful Ventura county. This ride provides not only great coastal views along the ocean, but also magnificent views of nature.
Whether you’re traveling through national state forests, going past lakes, or just simply cruising along the ocean’s coast, this ride won’t disappoint. You should be an at least a somewhat experienced rider before embarking on this route as it has twists, hills, and more.
2. Highway 1
This is listed by the US Department of Transportation as an “All-American Road,” making it one of the top highways in the whole country. There are only 31 roads with this honor, so this definitely isn’t a ride you want to miss. There’s endless attractions, as it is located on the beautiful coast of the Pacific Ocean. What’s along the coast you ask? Beautiful cliff-side views, an abundance of wildlife, and great pits stops that’ll leave you in awe of California. Want more? This route passes through mountains, the redwood forests, meadows, and even has some adventurous hills and waterfalls! There’s no reason this shouldn’t be on your to-do list if you love taking a nice long cruise on your bike.
Not to mention that this route has plenty of places along that way to stop for food, shop, and enjoy the views. Highway 1 will be a ride you never forget, and will definitely bring you back for more.
3. The Lost Highway
Want a ride that starts right here in San Luis Obispo where our firm is located? We’ve got just the ride. The lost highway, highway 58, takes you all the way to Bakersfield, California, and beyond. Filled with twists, turns, straight shots, wide curves, high and low elevation, this ride provides everything you could ask for.
Complemented with plenty of colorful pastures, forest terrain, and wildlife makes this ride is hard to pass up. The ride is known for its long stretches of just wildlife and terrain and very few housing developments. A perfect getaway for anyone needing a break from civilization. We must warn you though, there aren’t many gas stations, so fill up before you leave and prepare for the long ride.
This ride is not for the novice as the lost highway includes some sharp turns and parts of the ride can be difficult. Overall, this ride should provide you with a scenic adventure, as well as a challenge that you can enjoy time and time again.
